  ....how many do you think would actually go out in service?

  if they didn't think some elder was keeping up with their hours and number of placements, i think most witnesses would avoid it altogether.. ...also, if the brothers didn't have a corporate congregational ladder to climb, would they make any real effort?

  i think many of them do it because being an elder or ms gives them a sense of accomplishment and a certain authority they otherwise would not enjoy in the mundane world.

  I hated FS, but then again, I honestly never fully believed or embraced the religion, I went because I had to. I only put in a token 2-4 hours a month because it was "required". I would never classify my ministry as effective. Maybe it would be different if I truly believed in the cause.

  I want my hour back

  It takes my body atleast a week to adjust, and for some reason I actually have more problems in the fall when we gain an hour than I do when I lose an hour for some reason.

  i promised or i would not go...i tried to get out of it by saying "i'm not sure if i should cause i don't want you to get your hopes up, or anyone else's, cause i am only doin this for your and for some social reasons".....i just knew she would say to just stay home then.....but nothing but silence and then a change of conversation...so this will be awkward, but i think i have a bit of a masochistic tendency............oompa.

  what if i hand out copies of blondies comments on the wt tomorrow??

  Just remember what I told you about using your time at the meetings to your advantage, make it one long foreplay session, and you WILL have wild and freaky sex after the meeting!!

  lmao!....i am not kidding!...she says that if you go, or have to go to these damm meetings.......that you should use them to totally arouse your mate!.........center of palm rub....back of knee rub.......neck caress...ankle...you get the picture......wtf!...why did i not ever think of this or know there was such an opportunity?!?!?!?!

  LOL oompa! If you have to go, and you are doing it for more sex, use every minute of those meetings as foreplay! Helped me get out of many Sunday afternoons of service LOL

  been awhile since i participated.

  seems a bit tamer than the old board though.. need the board's input on a sociology question and wonder if some of you might respond.. i can't tell you how many conversations i have had with witnesses and ex-witnesses where the subject doesn't inevitably come up about who is still 'in' and who has 'fallen away'.

  This one is a hard one to answer for me, because I've been the youngest, the middle and the oldest. I'm the youngest of my full blood siblings, and they all left by the time I was about 9/10. My mother died and my father remarried and had two more children. For a while we were all at home, that made me pretty much the middle child (my oldest sister left home at 15). Once all my older siblings left, I was the oldest to my two half siblings.

  Out of those two, I left first, my younger brother left several years after I did, my youngest sister is still in.

  Rock superstars U2 will not have a Vienna live comeback appearance this year as a Jehovah's Witnesses' event is blocking the stadium on the band's preferred days.
  
  The Irish four-piece reportedly planned to return to Austria on 7 or 8 August to perform at Vienna's 51,000-seat Ernst Happel Stadium. However, the religious group has already leased the venue to hold a mass christening on both those days.
  
  It is now looking unlikely the band will perform in Austria this year since all the other 120 concert dates of the upcoming tour are already in the planning stage.
  
  Tickets for U2's Vienna concert in summer 2005 were sold out within minutes.
  
  U2 will release their 12th studio album "No line on the horizon" on 27 February. According to singer Bono Vox, the band stepped into unknown territory with their new material. He said: "The new songs sound different than anything we have done in the past – they are simply better."
